There are seasons in life when we wait on God, hoping and wondering when something will finally happen. We keep waiting, but sometimes we can begin to feel stuck because we don’t see anything changing.
But waiting on God is not about how long you wait; it’s about how you wait.

Waiting Doesn’t Mean You’re Stuck
Waiting on God doesn’t mean you need to freeze your life until a miracle or change happens. It means continuing to move forward while trusting Him with what you cannot yet see.
Use this season to prepare for what is coming. Work on your character. Learn how to handle the things you may have struggled with before. Be faithful with the small things.
For example, if you are waiting on God for a job, use this time to work on yourself. Maybe your previous job left you stressed and overwhelmed. Learn how to handle stress better and tackle that weakness now.
If you are waiting on God for a life partner, don’t only ask God for the right person. Ask Him how you can become the right person for them. Discover God’s calling for your life and walk in it. Work through weaknesses such as anger, trust issues, or emotional instability. Learn to find your joy in the Lord and become dependent on Him.
Your waiting season can become your preparation season.
Don’t Let What You See Make You Waver
One of the best examples of this is Abraham.
Abraham walked with God and had a relationship with Him. His knowledge of God grew as he heard Him, and so did his faith grow.
God promised Abraham that he would have a son and become the father of many nations. Yet the circumstances around him seemed to say otherwise.
Romans 4:17–22 tells us that Abraham “did not weaken in faith” when he considered his own body or Sarah’s barrenness. He did not allow what he saw, the facts, or his feelings to make him waver in God’s promise.
Instead, he grew strong in faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what He had promised.
That is what waiting on God can look like.
You may not see anything happening yet. You may not understand how God will bring His promise to pass. But you can choose not to let your current situation determine what you believe about God.
Let your story be like Abraham’s.
Become a friend of God. Use your waiting season to grow, prepare, and become stronger in Him. Give Him glory even when you cannot see the answer yet.
And like Abraham, be fully convinced that God is able to do what He has promised.
