Why Your Prophesies are not Coming to Pass
“So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.” (Exodus 2:24 NKJV)
Have you ever read this verse and wondered whether God had forgotten the children of Israel, and was it that only when they began groaning that He remembered them?
“Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.” (Genesis 30:22 NKJV)
Again, does this mean God had forgotten Rachel?
The Hebrew Word ‘remembered’ here, means not only to bring something to mind, but to ‘act on somebody’s behalf’.
As you have entered this New Year, let me assure you, God has not forgotten you or the prophesies He spoke over your life. In fact, He is waiting to act on your behalf.
The eyes of the Lord go to and fro to see who is it who remembers the Word He spoke to them, and has held onto it by faith (2 Chronicles 16:9). Again, it says in Isaiah 49:15, “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.”
So if God doesn’t forget, then what is the problem?
It is we who forget – By giving the place of God to something or someone else or by choosing to settle with something that is not God’s best.
1. Giving the place of God to something or someone else
“Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die!” And Jacob’s anger was aroused against Rachel, and he said, “Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?” (Genesis 30:1–2 NKJV)
When Rachel saw that she bore no children, in her frustration she went to Jacob instead of going to God, until Jacob reminded her of her mistake. It was when she understood this that in the same chapter we read: God remembered Rachel and opened her womb (Genesis 30:22 NKJV)
Your source is God, not man. He is your promise keeper. He is waiting to act on your behalf but you need to fix your eyes on Him and not on put your trust in man or some other source.
2. Choosing to settle with something that is not God’s best
“Now it happened after a long time [about forty years] that the king of Egypt died. And the children of Israel (Jacob) groaned and sighed because of the bondage, and they cried out. And their cry for help because of their bondage ascended to God.” (Exodus 2:23 AMP, emphasis mine)
As you can see in the above Scripture, the Israelites for a long time had settled in their bondage. That caused a delay in their deliverance. Similarly if you read about the life of Moses, who was supposed to be their deliverer, the Bible says he was content to live with the Jethro, the Midianite and even got married to his daughter (Exodus 2:21).
Don’t settle for something that is not God’s best for your life. You cant stop at Haran and settle there when God is leading you to Canaan (Genesis 11:31).
But when the Israelites cried for help, the Bible says “God acknowledged them” (Genesis 2:25), and acted on their behalf.
Your God never forgets! Some of you have even turned bitter against God, where as He is the only one who is working for your good. Even as you are reading this, I believe it is God’s love coming to you and reminding you of what YOU have forgotten, and not Him! 2025 is the year of Takeover. You are so close to your promised land. Do not let go this time!
