Feelings of fear, doubt, and anxiety often take over when we’re uncertain about how a situation will unfold. We love a good adventure, but uncertainty? Not so much. When challenges arise, we crave certainty—something solid to hold on to, something that reassures us about what’s coming next.

But here’s the good news: God has gone before us. And He has already made a way.

“Do not be terrified or afraid. The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you.”  Deuteronomy 1:29-30

This verse has calmed my fears countless times. I have clung to it in moments of doubt, using it as a reminder that my certainty and trust must be in God.

But today, I want to share something even deeper with you—something that will transform how you understand what it means when God says, “I go before you.”

This truth will give you the confidence to walk with God boldly, knowing that He is always ahead of you, preparing the way.

God Has Gone Before Us Before

In Deuteronomy 1, we read about how the Israelites asked Moses to send twelve spies to scout the Promised Land. But when they heard the spies report, fear overtook them, and they refused to move forward.

Where can we go up? Our brethren have discouraged our hearts, saying, ‘The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; moreover, we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.’” Deuteronomy 1:28

Sound familiar? Have you ever faced a challenge that seemed too big? A situation that made you feel too small, too weak, or too unqualified?

Maybe, like me, you’ve told God, “I can’t do this. You must have made a mistake choosing me.”

But here’s the truth: God has taken down giants before, and He will do it again for you.

The Proof That God Destroys Giants

Let’s look at what God had already done before the Israelites reached the Promised Land.

In Deuteronomy 2:4, we see that God gave the land of Seir to Esau’s descendants. Then, in Deuteronomy 2:9, He gave the land of Ar to Lot’s descendants.

What’s important to note is that both these lands were originally inhabited by giants—the Horites lived in Seir, and the Emim lived in Ar.

But what happened? God defeated the giants and gave those lands to His people.

Before the Israelites even faced the giants in Canaan, God had already proven that He was capable of delivering the land from the hands of giants. He had done it before, and He was ready to do it again.

Your Giant is Not Too Big for God

Your giant might not be a literal warrior standing in front of you, but it could be fear, financial struggles, health issues, exams, a job situation, family problems, or uncertainty about the future.

Whatever it is, tell your heart today:

“Be certain—God has gone before me. He has conquered giants before, and He will do it again.”

All we have to do is rise and cross over.

This year let’s walk in the certainty of God’s goodness. He has not made a mistake in choosing you for this assignment. You will fulfil it. You will cross over.

So go forward with confidence—God has already gone before you.

XOXO
