Yes, It is God Who Allowed It!

Yes, It is God Who Allowed It!

▪ Even though he was God, He allowed himself to become nothing.
▪ He allowed His body to be broken and marred beyond recognition
▪ He allowed Himself to be mocked at, spat at, laughed at.
▪ He allowed Himself to be naked before men and suffer shame.
And He did it for you and me. So we can have a life and life in abundance (John 10:10).

Now what makes you believe that…

  • The God who died for you allowed death of your loved one?
  • He who suffered for your sake allowed suffering to come in your life? (May be so suffering and pain can “teach” you something?)
  • What makes you believe that He who paid the price for your healing with His blood, allowed sickness and trauma to come to you.

God says in Jeremiah 29:11, I know the thoughts that I think toward you. Plans to prosper you and to bring you into a future and a hope.

God is good and whatever He does is good (Psalm 119:68)

And there is one thing I will not allow, God says, in Psalm 89:33-35, I will not allow My faithfulness towards you to fail.

So who allows suffering, sickness?

You can create the world around you with your words. The power of life and death is in your tongue (Proverbs 18:21).

According to 1 Peter 3:10 ( NLT), “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.

It is a messed up idea about who your God is, that allows the devil to steal, kill and destroy.

Beloved, may your eyes be opened. Don’t allow what Jesus paid for!

Movie recommendation: Facing The Giants 🍿

Movie recommendation: Facing The Giants 🍿

Were you able to watch the movie “I Can Only Imagine“? Well, here’s our next movie recommendation: Facing The Giants.

We all have giants in our life that we need to face. I recently heard this scripture, and it stood out to me the way Jesus said it in John 16:33, which says, “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Wow, God says He has overcome the world. Doesn’t that give us hope that we, too, can face and overcome the giants in our lives?

Here’s a movie that shows a real-life struggle and how when one man chooses the narrow path, he gets his whole life in order and influences the people around him.

If you love sports, motivational, or inspiring movies, then this is a must-watch!

Psst short spoilers ahead!

It’s about a coach who has lost several seasons, and most of his good players move into another high school where they have a chance to win. All the fathers of the players conspire against him to get him dismissed as a coach. He could barely make ends meet at home, and his wife could not get pregnant.

This coach had but one goal- win games. But everything changed when he met a man of God who changed his perspective on life. In the man of God’s words, ” We need to give God our best in every area, and if we win, we praise Him, and if we lose, we praise Him.”
I know this movie will encourage you, move you, and make you face your giants!

Hit reply and let us know your thoughts on this movie. 🙂

I Have Been Making A Prayer 🙏

I Have Been Making A Prayer 🙏

Of late, I have been making a prayer to God saying,

“May what I know, not limit you from doing what you can in my life.”

I realised many times we have too much knowledge in our heads – we know how church is “done”, we know which scriptures to quote, which song to sing, what prayer to make, and yet in all this, we limit God forgetting that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask, think or imagine.

my prayer

Once when Jesus was in the region of Tyre and Sidon and entered a house, there were two types of people who got a chance to encounter Him. One type represented those who knew too much “about Jesus”, and other who knew about Him, but moved beyond that knowledge, removing limits off God and thus received a breakthrough.

From there He arose and went to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And He entered a house and wanted no one to know it, but He could not be hidden ( Mark 7:24)

Jesus wanted no one to know that he was in this house, but these set of people in the region knew it. They knew too much. They had perceived the move of God and gathered. Some of them must have reached before Jesus. But the Bible doesn’t consider mentioning or highlighting any miracle that Jesus did for them. He came, and He departed.

But in the midst of all these, there was one Syro-Phoenician woman who also knew something about Jesus. She knew that He was not sent for her. But she didn’t allow what she knew to limit her from contending with God for a miracle for her daughter. And her great faith made Jesus grant her what she desired.

While there were many others in the house who could have received a healing from Jesus. In fact, according to Jesus, the healing belonged to them – it was their bread, but they allowed what they knew to limit the hand of God.

Beloved, I want to encourage you to take your limits off God. What impossible you can believe Him for, is what you will see Him manifest in your life.

Lord may my knowledge of you, not limit You from doing what You can in my life. May my knowledge of you not be stagnant, but may I grow in my revelation of who you are and what you can do!

The One Characteristic That God Hates in His Children

The One Characteristic That God Hates in His Children

One morning, I sat down to spend time in God’s presence. I took a glass of warm water with me and took a sip of it. It was not hot but warm, almost cold. I could barely gulp it down my throat, and I thought to myself- water at this temperature doesn’t taste good.

And I sensed the Lord say, “That’s how I hate lukewarmness”.

“So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.”
(Revelation 3:16)

walk daily

What does it mean to be a Lukewarm Christian?

A believer who does things out of religion is a lukewarm believer. From the above verses, it is clear that God hates this characteristic in His children.

When you read the Word to put a tick on your to-do list..

When you attend church on Sundays just so you don’t go to hell..

When praising and worshipping God becomes a mere activity or entertainment..

When prayer becomes selfish and self-centered..

When serving in the church becomes all about looking like a good believer in the eyes of man..

When there is no more joy in giving, but it is done simply out of fear of judgment or out of duty..

Then, religion is born, and lukewarmness takes birth.

The Lord hates lukewarmness. No matter how good a believer we portray ourselves on the outside, the Lord tests our hearts and minds (Psalm 7:9).

How to Overcome Lukewarmness

Most believers, at some point, will encounter lukewarmness in their spiritual journey. Many times I have found myself in a lukewarm state. What is important is that we don’t settle with it, but get up and rekindle our fire for God. Many start on fire for God, but few keep it burning. To keep our fire for God burning requires us to be intentional in our walk with God daily.

We must understand that Christian life is not about how right we do things on the outside. Instead, it is about how right our heart is with God.

“Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?”(Galatians 3:3)

The way not to allow lukewarmness to overcome us is by renewing our relationship with Jesus every day. It is all about our relationship with Jesus; everything gets birthed out of that relationship with the Lover of our souls.

When we first came to Christ, isn’t that how it was? We praised Him and worshipped Him out of our love for Him, and we didn’t care if we seemed foolish to the world. We spent time in His presence out of love. We gave out of joy. God desires for us to remain in that first love that we had for Him. (Revelation 2:4-5)

Many believers fail because they don’t get to know God beyond their point of salvation. They settle with the testimony of how they got saved. But what they don’t realise is that being saved is just the beginning.

There is so much more to God, and how can we know Him more unless we build our relationship with Him more, and that too every day? There is so much more to Him than the encounters you have had with Him till today. He is more beautiful and more interesting than anything or anyone you will ever come across.

Dear sister, if you have become lukewarm in your spiritual journey, I encourage you to rekindle your relationship with Jesus through Word and prayer, and being connected to a spirit-led church that will help you grow spiritually. Let us be like the five wise virgins keeping our lamps trimmed and burning bright for Jesus. He is coming soon.

XOXO
