Want to Soar Spiritually? You Can’t Fly Without This Second Wing

Want to Soar Spiritually? You Can’t Fly Without This Second Wing

Have you ever been in a situation where you messed up? You wished you hadn’t said that statement or did what you did?

Sometimes even when we know what is the right thing to do, we fall when trialing moments come.

One day, when I was pondering on this I began to hear the song “What a friend we have in Jesus”, where it says “take everything to the Lord in prayer.”

That’s when I realized that sometimes it was not the lack of knowing the Word that caused me to fall, but that it was a lack of prayer.

I was backed with the Word but wasn’t backed with prayer.

prayer,Word

Is it important to pray for ourselves?

Yes! It is so important for us to pray for ourselves. This is one of the most important teachings I’ve heard my spiritual father, Prophet Derrick D’Souza, teach on recently. He showed us how Jesus, being the Son of God, had to pray with loud cries and tears to the only One who was able to save Him.

“In the days of His flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to Him who was able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.” (Hebrews 5:7)

Many times we don’t overcome certain temptations because we think we can overcome with our own strength. God wants to help you. All you need to do is ask Him for help, seek Him for His grace and understanding, and knock until you get your breakthrough.

Jesus said to his disciples in Matthew 26:21, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Remember the incident at Gethsemane? Jesus asked three of His closest disciples to pray for at least an hour, but they couldn’t because they were genuinely tired. So tired that they couldn’t even stay awake. Yet their genuine tiredness did not stop Jesus from asking them to pray.  Because He knew that the hour of trial was coming.

If you have been often falling in an area though you know the truth, it’s time to cry out to God to help you overcome it.

Prayer & the Word– You Need Both!

Girls, we need the backing of prayer as much as we need the backing of the knowledge of the Word. Because there are also times when we pray a lot and are still struggling or falling in an area because we haven’t understood God’s heart for us in that situation.

And the way you will know God’s heart for any situation is through the Word of God. Prayer and Word are like the two wings of a bird– we need both to fly with Jesus.

You are more than an overcomer in Christ Jesus. Soar high with Him this year!

Choosing to Walk With God—Here’s Why It’s Worth It

Choosing to Walk With God—Here’s Why It’s Worth It

Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” So when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days.” (John 4:39-40)

When the Samaritan woman had an encounter with Jesus, she went and told about Jesus to her whole town and brought them to Him. And when they came to Him, they urged Him to stay with them. And He stayed with them for two days.

For two days Samaria had the Living, Miracle working God in their midst. They had an opportunity that not many other people had.

Walk with God

When Embracing Turns Into Rejection

Later on, there came a point in the life of Jesus where He had to go to Jerusalem because the time had come for Jesus to lay His life down on the cross. And, He was flint focused towards fulfilling the purpose of His life.  The Bible says His face was set towards Jerusalem.

But in order for Jesus to reach Jerusalem He had to pass through Samaria. So, Jesus sent His disciples ahead of Him to a village of Samaria to make preparations for Him.

But this time the same Samaritans who once refused to let Jesus go, now refused to receive Him because His face was set for Jerusalem.

“Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem,  and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him. But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem.” (Luke 9:51-53)

The first time the Samaritans encountered Jesus, they saw Him performing miracles and meeting their needs. But this time, they realized He was simply passing through. His destination, Jerusalem, was itself a point of deep contention as they considered Jerusalem not a place of worship. This stirred up their bitterness even more.

Please God or Man?

Child of God, when you make a decision to walk in your call and accomplish the purpose of God on your life, not many will accept or receive you. If they rejected Jesus who gave them the Living Word and did miracles among them, they will do it to you too.

Yet you need to live a life not to please man, but to please God. When you are facing situations or people in your family who do not accept your walk with God, don’t go to fight them. Instead you keep growing! That’s your key!

People will disappoint you, so it is better to serve God’s purpose in your generation. Keep upgrading yourself everyday because everything around you is upgrading itself. Keep growing in your identity and the right people will come chasing you. Your bosses will come chasing after you. Favour will come chasing after you.

When you keep growing the very people who are fighting you today will see your light shine bright and come to you.

God Has Gone Before You : Walk in Certainty

God Has Gone Before You : Walk in Certainty

Feelings of fear, doubt, and anxiety often take over when we’re uncertain about how a situation will unfold. We love a good adventure, but uncertainty? Not so much. When challenges arise, we crave certainty—something solid to hold on to, something that reassures us about what’s coming next.

But here’s the good news: God has gone before us. And He has already made a way.

“Do not be terrified or afraid. The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you.”  Deuteronomy 1:29-30

This verse has calmed my fears countless times. I have clung to it in moments of doubt, using it as a reminder that my certainty and trust must be in God.

But today, I want to share something even deeper with you—something that will transform how you understand what it means when God says, “I go before you.”

This truth will give you the confidence to walk with God boldly, knowing that He is always ahead of you, preparing the way.

uncertainty

God Has Gone Before Us Before

In Deuteronomy 1, we read about how the Israelites asked Moses to send twelve spies to scout the Promised Land. But when they heard the spies report, fear overtook them, and they refused to move forward.

Where can we go up? Our brethren have discouraged our hearts, saying, ‘The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; moreover, we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.’” Deuteronomy 1:28

Sound familiar? Have you ever faced a challenge that seemed too big? A situation that made you feel too small, too weak, or too unqualified?

Maybe, like me, you’ve told God, “I can’t do this. You must have made a mistake choosing me.”

But here’s the truth: God has taken down giants before, and He will do it again for you.

The Proof That God Destroys Giants

Let’s look at what God had already done before the Israelites reached the Promised Land.

In Deuteronomy 2:4, we see that God gave the land of Seir to Esau’s descendants. Then, in Deuteronomy 2:9, He gave the land of Ar to Lot’s descendants.

What’s important to note is that both these lands were originally inhabited by giants—the Horites lived in Seir, and the Emim lived in Ar.

But what happened? God defeated the giants and gave those lands to His people.

Before the Israelites even faced the giants in Canaan, God had already proven that He was capable of delivering the land from the hands of giants. He had done it before, and He was ready to do it again.

Your Giant is Not Too Big for God

Your giant might not be a literal warrior standing in front of you, but it could be fear, financial struggles, health issues, exams, a job situation, family problems, or uncertainty about the future.

Whatever it is, tell your heart today:

“Be certain—God has gone before me. He has conquered giants before, and He will do it again.”

All we have to do is rise and cross over.

This year let’s walk in the certainty of God’s goodness. He has not made a mistake in choosing you for this assignment. You will fulfil it. You will cross over.

So go forward with confidence—God has already gone before you.

Why Does The Devil Tempt You

Why Does The Devil Tempt You

Do you know why as a child of God you often encounter temptations?

Well, the reason why the devil tempts you is because he cannot touch you!

When you get born again of the incorruptible seed of the Word of God, you are identified in all realms as a son of God, having the same authority and power of Jesus. You carry the DNA of a victorious King who has stripped all powers and principalities and made a public spectacle of them.

God Is Good

Think about it, if the devil had any power left, he would have destroyed you long back.

The devil knows that life and death are in the power of YOUR tongue (Proverbs 18:21), but the question is— do you, as a child of God, know this?

That’s why the devil uses deception, lies and temptations to bring a child of God down. And, our ignorance of who we are in Him, and the power we possess, causes us to fall into these temptations.

Because you don’t understand the power of your words, you end up making statements like: “Everybody is falling sick, it’s the season of flu”, “I have had this allergy since the last 15 years, there is no cure”, “By the 15th of every month my salary gets exhausted”, “I can never get out of this addiction”.

If the devil can get you to speak against your own life, he can make sure that you never receive a breakthrough in that area. So he makes you say something against your own life and against your own blessing that will bring you down.

We need to rise up and take our positions in Jesus Christ. By faith, we need to open our mouths and speak the language of God. Instead, we either keep quiet or speak our fears and defeat.

Faith speaks. If there is faith, it has to speak. If you cannot speak, you cannot have victory. Remember, the violent take it by force, while the silent remain violated.

Be bold, child of God, the devil cannot touch you because God promises that no weapon formed against you shall prosper(Isaiah 54:17). Tell that storm you are facing, tell that sickness you are fighting, tell that debt or lack you are facing, tell that addiction— Come meet my God!

Stop succumbing to temptations, instead fight him back with the Word of God knowing that the battle is already won!

Here’s How To See Your Dreams Come True

Here’s How To See Your Dreams Come True

Most of us have dreams and desires that we want to see fulfilled in our lives. For some, it could be finding a godly partner for marriage. For others, it could be wanting a better job with a better pay or starting a new business.

God-given dreams are good, and it is something we should work towards and look forward to. But while we are waiting to see it fulfilled in our lives there are somethings that we can do that can accelerate the fulfillment of our dreams.

God Is Good

1. Be faithful in the little

Matthew 25:21 says, “You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.”

This is God’s formula of adding more in your life.

When you are faithful with what has already been entrusted to you, God will add more in your life. When you are faithful in the phase of life that you are currently in, God will bring you into your new season.

Maybe you are desiring to get married, but while you are waiting you can prepare yourself for the new season by working on yourself. Work on your character, work on establishing your career.

Maybe you are desiring a new job, but while you are waiting you can do the current job with gratitude and excellence.

Maybe you are desiring to start a new business, but while you are waiting and working towards it, you can bring order in the other areas of your life so that when the business starts your life doesn’t become chaotic.

The perfect example would be the life of Daniel. Daniel 6:3 says, “Then this Daniel became distinguished above all the other high officials and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.”

Daniel was too faithful in whatever was assigned to him that, by default, the next step was a promotion.

When you are faithful in what has been given to you, you qualify yourself for an elevation.

You may be thinking, “Oh, but that’s Daniel”. But we know that as born-again daughters of God, we have the same spirit in us that was in Daniel. So, if Daniel could do it, we too can do it.

You may be asking why is this important.

The Bible says in Luke 12:48, “..to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.”

Whatever God has entrusted to you at this point in your life, God expects you to be faithful in it. And when He finds you faithful in what has already been given to you, He will entrust you with greater things.

Whatever has been committed to us, the Bible says, an account will be asked of us. So, before we can ask for more, can we be found faithful in what is already committed to us?

    2. Gratitude

As much as it is important for us to be faithful in what has been committed to us now, it is also important for us to carry a heart of gratitude.

Carrying a heart of gratitude will accelerate God’s blessing over your life.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

When you are a grateful person you are in the will of God. And if you are in the will of God you are on the right track to receiving your breakthrough.

If this post has blessed you, write back to us. We love to hear from you! 🙂

Facing Long-Standing Problems- Here’s How To Qualify for an Instant Breakthrough

Facing Long-Standing Problems- Here’s How To Qualify for an Instant Breakthrough

Life is filled with challenges that test our patience, resilience, and most importantly, our faith. Whether it’s illness in the family, a troubled relationship, or any financial struggle, we face difficult situations in some or the other stage in our life.

In our walk of faith, we have seen the faithfulness of God and breakthroughs in our lives in many situations.

      But!

Many times we have this one problem, that we have been praying for many years, however not seen any changes. It almost feels like it is too big to overcome.

Well if this is about you, read on…

Here are 2 keys I have learnt from John 5, the incident of “the healing at the pool”, to build my faith in a challenge that I have been facing for many years, just like you.

      God Is Good
      1. Overcome doubt

John 5:6, we read, “Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time.” This powerful verses tells us that Jesus sees and understands our struggles. When we face long standing challenges, it’s common to wonder in our hearts, “Jesus, do You see me? Do You know what I’m going through?”

In times of prolonged struggle, it can feel like our prayers are going unheard, and the weight of our burdens can lead us to doubt. Yet, this encounter reminds us that Jesus sees and knows our situation. He isn’t distant or indifferent; He is fully aware of our pain and the length of our trials.

Let us take a moment to reflect on this truth. Together, let’s repent in our hearts for any doubts we may have had. Let’s choose to believe, without doubt, that God is with us in our struggles. He walks alongside us, offering comfort, strength, and hope.

      1. Be quick in faith

Now in John 5:8-9 we read,

“Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.”

The key word here is immediately!

When Jesus told him to rise up, take your bed and walk, the man didn’t hesitate. He responded to Jesus’ command with action. This is a crucial part of faith, not only believing but also acting upon that belief.

Do you believe when Jesus speaks, change happens? This man had gone through years of suffering, but the transformation was instant. His quick faith and obedience in the words of Jesus altered his life —no more waiting.

I believe the one thing that attracted Jesus to this man is the thirty eight years of faith he had shown by remaining near the pool every day and believing that at that pool he will receive his breakthrough.

And rightly he received his breakthrough at that pool.

Where you keep going back to, is where you put your faith in for your breakthrough.

Don’t give up, continue to be in the presence of God daily and be renewed by the Word of God; because I believe that Jesus has located you and so has your breakthrough.

      XOXO
