Sometimes in life you may face situations that look like a mountain before you; it looks beyond you, and it looks like it has come over to take your space and freedom. But here’s the greater truth: Your God is too good and He loves you unconditionally. He is for you and He is with you. So you can look at that mountain and say to it: “This is too small for my big God.”
Instead of speaking out loud your fears and worries, look at your problem and say, “This is too small a matter for my Big God!”This is not positive talk. It is the Word of God.
2 Kings 3:18 says, “…this is a simple matter in the eyes of God.”
At that time, the kingdom of Israel was divided into two parts: Israel in the north and Judah in the south. Jehoram ruled Israel and he was a wicked king. Jehoshaphat ruled Judah and he was a good king.
Then the king of Moab picked a fight with Jehoram. So Jehoram and Jehoshaphat came together to fight Moab. They passed through Edom, a desert land, and joined forces with the king of Edom. Now three kings were going to battle, but after seven days, they had no water for the army or for the animals. They were devastated and felt it was over.
But they went to Elisha the prophet, and he gave them specific instructions from God: And he said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Make this valley full of ditches.’ For thus says the Lord: ‘You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you, your cattle, and your animals may drink.’ (2 Kings 3:16-17)
Then Elisha says, “And this is a simple matter in the sight of the Lord”. (2 Kings 3:18)
The next morning, at the time of offering, suddenly, water came by the way of Edom, though Edom was a desert, and the land was filled with water. No rain. No wind. Yet the valley overflowed.
Then the Moabites looked at the water, and in the sunlight it appeared like blood. They assumed the kings had fought each other and rushed in for plunder, but Israel was ready and defeated them.
So whatever situation you are going through, can you look at it and say, “It is too small for my big God”? It is a simple matter in the eyes of God. When the enemy looks at you, he sees the Blood of Jesus. That is how protected and loved you are. You may not see wind. You may not see rain. And yet, you shall see the land filled with water.
Shalom.
