Freedom From Porn-Practical Steps

Freedom From Porn-Practical Steps

Recently, we received a mail from someone who opened up about her struggle with watching porn. She said, “I used to watch porn occasionally. I stopped it, but I kept failing. I got married, but I feel like watching it sometimes. I haven’t been honest about this with anyone, but I felt the need to do so now more than ever. Can you please pray for me?”

Are you facing a similar struggle?

Here’s our response, which will help you:

Declare and Meditate on the Truth

1. You have been given a spirit of self-control; you are not weak.

“for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7

2. You have been given the grace to live in purity.

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age.” Titus 2:11–12

3. Surrender is key.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

4. Renew your mind.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2

5 . God is faithful.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

Practical steps to outwit porn

1. Identify the triggers
Self-evaluate to understand what triggers make you go back to the habit. Is it watching movies that have explicit scenes or romantic songs? Is it indulging in gross talk or boredom or sitting alone? Once you identify the triggers, uproot them and run away from the environment.

2. Build a support system
Whether through therapy, support groups, or trusted friends and family, having a supportive system is essential.

3. Be mindful
Be mindful of what you are watching, reading, and hearing. Establish habits to read and listen to content that will empower and encourage you.

4. Be Accountable
Use applications on your phone and computers to block sites and images. Every time you are tempted, have an accountability partner you can connect with, to pray with you and guide you.

5. Develop healthy habits
Eat healthy, exercise, go for walks, or learn a new skill. Keep your mind active and renewed.Do not be tricked anymore; now that you know, choose with understanding and choose differently.

Your end is not fear, shame, guilt or death, but it is an abundant life, full of joy in Jesus Christ. We are here for you, we care about you and we are cheering for you.

Shh…Addicted to Porn? Your 1 Step to Freedom

Shh…Addicted to Porn? Your 1 Step to Freedom

Freedom from porn addiction.

Alright, you know porn is bad.

Watching porn makes you feel dirty and condemned.

I am sure you agree with me that pornography is from the pit of hell. It is filthy, destroys our idea about sex, and corrupts our thinking.

But here is where you are stuck.

It has become an addiction. You have been hiding this from those around you. You have tried many online accountability sites to get rid of this habit, but nothing seems to be working.

There is hope

Let me tell you, this is not by chance that you are reading this. If you are fed up with your pornographic addiction and crying out for freedom, please trust me with this one key.

Only ONE.

Follow this, and I am praying that it will trigger a move that will break the hold of pornography over your life.

The quickest way to your breakthrough from a sin is to EXPOSE it (And yes pornography is a sin!)

Never forget this – What you hide has power over your life.

The devil wants you to conceal your addiction to pornography, and he will bring you reasons likeshame, fear, guilt to keep you from exposing it.

John 3:20 says, Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

You see, the devil is not interested in just playing hide and seek with you. He has only one agenda and that is to knock you out of God’s plan for your life and to completely destroy you and the lives that are connected to you.

Even as you read this, don’t delay

Take a step of faith and expose your struggle with a same-sex mentor, pastor or someone who is mature in the Lord, who can pray with you and guide you. The Bible says confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed (James 5:16). Make sure this person should be filled with the Holy Spirit and the Word and living a life glorifying Jesus.

Trample that fear and shame and make this conversation face to face. No whatsapp. No SMS. Just speak your heart out. And allow God to do the rest!
